Eskom welcomes recommendations of VGBe report

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom is welcoming the recommendations of the VGBe report.

It was commissioned by National Treasury in consultation with the utility for the period from March to May 2023.

The recommendations include addressing design-related issues at Medupi and Kusile power stations.

It also advises each power station to have individualised and detailed recovery plans.

Eskom says it has already addressed some of the issues.

The utility says it has implemented modifications to improve plant reliability.

According to Eskom, the generation operational recovery plan addresses numerous problems.

It expects several units to come back online before the end of the year.
