Fraudulent schemes have serious impact on SA economy

JOHANNESBURG - Criminals are often one step ahead of their victims and law enforcement. 

Their fraudulent schemes are becoming more complicated and sophisticated, jeopardizing the country's economic security. 

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners' South African Chapter is now stepping up its efforts,
to combat white-collar crime. 

Its CEO Jaco de Jager says there's an urgent need for increased surveillance and expert action.
