JOHANNESBURG - The Dynamic People's Union of SA says today is a sad day for the aviation industry in South Africa.

Mashudu Raphetha believes government could have intervened and done more to save jobs at the now liquidated SA Express.
He elaborated, "[the] government had the capacity to intervene."
"They had money. Someone with a war chest, that is capital, was supposed to come on board. As a union, we don't have those financial resources to save this."
"[It's] very much a sad reality that is happening today."
