JOHANNESBURG - About half of South Africa’s top earners and university graduates are considering emigration according to the finding of a new survey by the Social Research Foundation.

The Johannesburg-based research group surveyed more than 3,000 registered voters in July.

It found 53-percent of university graduates and 43-percent of those who earned more than R20,000 a month may leave the country.

The findings come as the economy fails to absorb a growing labour force, while government seems unable to curb corruption scandals.
