Investec posts earnings growth, record dividend

JOHANNESBURG - Investec has reported a solid set of annual results, with earnings growth and a record dividend, underscoring resilience despite a challenging global environment.

The bank reported higher revenue and profits for the year to March, with strong lending growth and client activity supporting performance.

Adjusted operating profit rose 3.5 percent, while revenue increased 4.2 percent over the period.

Headline earnings per share edged up slightly by 0.7 percent, while adjusted earnings rose more strongly, beating market expectations.

The group also declared a record dividend for a fourth consecutive year, reflecting confidence in its balance sheet and long-term strategy.

Growth was driven by its Southern Africa business, while UK operations delivered modest gains.

Investec says it remains on track to improve returns over the next few years, as it continues investing in technology, client growth, and capital-light businesses.
