Makro outsources staff as workers strike
JOHANNESBURG - Massmart has deployed outsourced retail staff to stores that may be affected by the strike action announced by Saccawu.
Massmart says it conducted research on the strike and found there's little support for the strike among union members.
It says the evidence is that there has been a massive spike in resignations from the union since the strike action was announced.
The union is demanding a twelve percent increase and 20% commission on sales.
Massmart says the demand is unrealistic and contradicts the fact that Saccawu accepted the company is offer at Game and Builders stores.
