JOHANNESBURG - Morocco has edged past South Africa to become Africa’s fourth-most attractive investment destination.
That’s according to Rand Merchant Bank’s latest rankings.
The bank’s ‘Where to Invest in Africa’ report highlights Morocco’s rise.
For several years, South Africa has come in fourth behind Seychelles, Mauritius and Egypt, which remain in places one, two and three. But now South Africa moves to number five.
RMB assesses 31 nations across 20 metrics grouped into four pillars, including economic performance, innovation, the investment climate, as well as social and human development.
RMB says the report reflects Morocco's years of successful industrialisation, export diversification and infrastructure investment.
