MTN to invest R22bn in SA by 2028

JOHANNESBURG - MTN South Africa plans to invest nearly R22 billion by 2028 to support the country’s digital transformation and economic growth.

The investment will primarily go toward network infrastructure and IT systems to improve broadband connectivity. 

MTN said this would help boost entrepreneurship, innovation, and growth across communities.

MTN has also highlighted its wider impact, including R5.4 billion paid in taxes last year, more than 4,000 jobs supported, and ongoing investment in digital skills and youth development.

The company said these efforts position MTN as a key government partner in driving growth, digital inclusion, and economic opportunity.
