MTN results | Power cuts cost MTN R695m in 2022

JOHANNESBURG - MTN says power cuts cost its South African operations just under R700-million in 2022 alone.

Despite this, MTN upped its dividend by 10 percent as it continues to benefit from higher demand for data on the continent.

Subscribers increased by 6 percent year-on-year to 289.1 million.

In South Africa alone, subscribers grew 4.4 percent to 36.5 million.

Its headline earnings grew just under 17 percent.
