NUM slams plans to retrench over 800 workers

DURBAN - NUM in KwaZulu-Natal is fuming after learning that the Zululand Anthracites Colliery intends to retrench over 800 workers.

The union will lead a march to the Mineral Resources Department on Wednesday.

The union wants the department to revoke the company's mining rights should it continue with the planned retrenchments.

NUM KZN Regional Secretary Muzikayise Zakwe discussed this with eNCA.
