
JOHANNESBURG - Persistent power cuts and high feed prices have hit the interim profits of another poultry producer.
Quantum Foods' earnings fell more than 80% year-on-year to R5.7 million.

It says the poor performance was mostly due to increased feed costs, rolling blackouts, and the inability to recover higher production costs from customers.
Quantum also warned about the devastating impact of avian flu and the likelihood that the prices of eggs could increase in some parts of the country.
