eNCA spoke to Deputy Minister of International Affairs Alvin Botes after Ruto arrived at Waterkloof Air Force Base, who said Economic diplomacy, particularly economic trade, is significant.

"If you look at our exports to Kenya, it exceeds R1 billion per annum. So it's quite significant. It has a trade balance that is in the favor of South Africa, which implies more job opportunities because of this enhanced trade," he said.

The official welcome ceremony will take place at 9:30. Official talks will take place thereafter.

A Memorandum of Agreement signing Ceremony and a media briefing will take place at around half past 12.

A South Africa, Kenya Business Forum meeting will then take place at Gallagher Estate in the late afternoon.
