JOHANNESBURG - South African youth is spending less on their grocery basket.
This is according to the recent Maholla App survey.
This is due to the high cost of living and access to financial freedom.
The survey found wholesale environments accounted for the majority of sales.
"We particularly zoomed in on basket size as a whole, we checked how many items are on each basket," said Maholla App CEO Adam Reilly.
"We looked at how that has gone down and the average number of items on the receipts has gone down from six to five."
