JOHANNESBURG - The country wouldn't be in this position, if government and business had started collaborating earlier according to Business Unity South Africa CEO, Cas Coovadia.

The collaboration was launched in June this year, with the aim of restructuring the country's ailing economy.
Coovadia said, "had we started with this a few years ago, we might not have been in this problem, I am not surprised that will have load shedding during summer."
"What this initiative is doing is we want to stop slide that the country is inâ¦If we can make some critical interventions in energy, logistic, crime, in the next 18 months we can stop this this slide."
"When the president says thereâs progress in energy, the fact that we can stabilize load shedding in the next few months that means thereâs progress. If there was an expectation from the public that load shedding will have ended by now. I think that expectation needs to be tempered.â
