SA’s economic trouble | Inflation target band to be reviewed

JOHANNESBURG - The inflation target band is set for review.

Reserve Bank governor Lesetja Kganyago says he would like a lower inflation target before 2025.

Chief economist at the Bureau for Economic Research, Lisette Ijssel de Schepper, said the initial plan was to move the target.

"We have a good sense that the new target is probably going to be around three percent inflation," she said.

"This will take time, however."
