Sixty60 drives Shoprite growth as sales jump 35%

JOHANNESBURG - Sixty60 has delivered strong sales and growth for Shoprite.

It jumped almost 5 percent mainly due to the delivery platform and store expansion.

Shoprite expects headline earnings per share from continuing operations to rise by between 9.7 percent and 14.7 percent.

Sixty60 sales jumped almost 35 percent as Africa's largest retailer cements its position in the e-commerce market.

The group also reported solid growth across its South African and rest-of-Africa supermarket operations.

The Checkers brand outperformed the rest of the portfolio.

Shoprite is due to release its full-year results on 1 September.
