State Capture Report | Ministers barred from govt tenders
JOHANNESBURG - Ministers will no longer be allowed to play any role in government tenders.
That's the word from president Cyril Ramaphosa, who says procurement processes will be different.
Ramaphosa says the government is taking seriously, the recommendations of the Zondo report into state capture.
He says all ministers, including himself and his deputy, will be subjected to lifestyle audits.
Meanwhile, the government has recovered R2.9bn stolen through state capture.
President Cyril Ramaphosa confirmed this during his address on Sunday as the government continues to implement recommendations of the State Capture Inquiry.
So far, over 160 people have been implicated and have made appearances in court.
The President says recovered funds are being redirected to affected state-owned entities.
