JOHANNESBURG - Toyota South Africa Motors has recalled 146 Hino 300 series trucks sold nationwide between March and October last year.
The recall covers several models, including the XZU600R and XZU730R.
The National Consumer Commission says an incorrect component may have been installed on the combination meter circuit board, risking overheating and causing speedometer or odometer failures and potentially creating unsafe driving conditions.
Owners are urged to visit the nearest authorised Toyota dealership for free inspections and repairs.
The National Consumer Commission will continue to monitor the process in line with the Consumer Protection Act.
