JOHANNESBURG - Toyota’s Automark pre-owned vehicle business has recorded a 3 percent increase in year-to-date sales compared with 2025.
Automark outperformed the same month last year in every month from January to August, with July recording its strongest sales of the year at 4,912 vehicles.
The Hilux was the best-selling model, with 6,898 units sold, followed by the Corolla Cross with 4,248 and the Starlet with 3,951.
Toyota says the figures reflect continued demand for its vehicles in the pre-owned market.
“Toyota’s strength in the pre-owned market is no accident,” says Leon Theron, Toyota South Africa Motors’ Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Automark has more than 200 dealerships across South Africa, offering customers access to Toyota-backed pre-owned vehicles and after-sales support.
The company says the continued sales growth highlights sustained demand for Toyota vehicles beyond the new-car market.
