JOHANNESBURG - Cosatu says US reciprocal tariffs on steel will hurt the economy.
Donald Trump has implemented 25 percent duty on all steel imports.
The decision puts thousands of jobs at risk and exacerbates an already high unemployment rate.
The US President is touting tariffs as a means to Make America Great Again.
However, many warn the duties will hurt American consumers the most.
"Trade is key to having and creating jobs," said Cosatu Parliamentary coordinator Matthew Parks.
