WASHINGTON - The clock is ticking down to US President Donald Trump’s tariff deadline, a day before products from South Africa are hit with a 30% tariff.
Reserve Bank governor Lesetja Kganyago has warned that 100,000 jobs are at risk.
Most of the jobs are in the agriculture and automotive sectors.
Pretoria has put forward an offer to reduce the tariff, but as Toni Waterman explains from Washington, the Trump administration has not responded.
