JOHANNESBURG - Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille wants the controversial Tottenham Hotspur sponsorship deal scrapped.

She says the deal is not in the best interests of South Africans and has not been budgeted for.

 

A the same time De Lille said the resignations of some board members, as well as suspensions at South African Tourism, are being looked into.

Three board members, Enver Duminy, Ravi Nadasen and Rosemary Anderson, resigned in February amid the controversial Tottenham Hotspur sponsorship proposal.

Acting Chief Financial Officer Johan van der Walt was later suspended.
