The difficulty of leaving sex work

JOHANNESBURG - Sex workers and activists say it's not easy to leave what's often called the world's oldest profession.

The debate around decriminalising sex work has come up again after six bodies, some believed to be sex workers, were found in central Johannesburg.

Activist groups say numerous sex workers have gone missing.

Speaking on JJ Tabane's show, Power to Truth, sex worker Ziyanda had this to say.

"I don't think that it's easy for sex workers to exit sex work," she said.

"Maybe sex workers exit because they are old, but as long as they can perform I don't think.

"It's not easy to quit sex working."
