JOHANNESBURG - FNB’s Senior Economist, Koketso Mano, says mining production showed positive signs in June, largely driven by a stronger performance in iron ore.
While other metals like gold made smaller contributions, iron ore was the main driver of growth during the month.
Mano added that if this momentum continues, the mining sector could contribute positively to second-quarter GDP growth.
