A new Water Sector Anti-Corruption Forum has been launched as the SIU and the Department of Water and Sanitation move to track, investigate, and root out wrongdoing in the water sector, after a long list of alleged irregularities was laid bare.
 

South Africans could soon feel the financial cost of the Middle East conflict, with warnings that petrol could jump by between R2 and R4 per litre in April if oil price pressure holds, after disruption around the Strait of Hormuz and a weaker rand.

In Washington, Republican senators voted down an effort to halt President Donald Trump’s war against Iran, as lawmakers spar over justification, oversight, and what a US exit strategy looks like.

Back home, tensions returned to the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee as forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan apologised for last week’s walkout, then faced sharp questions over how he obtained an MP’s personal information.

Meanwhile, Fadiel Adams defended his decision to lay charges against senior police officials, including KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

The National Consumer Commission has announced a Volkswagen Polo Vivo recall, affecting vehicles bought between February last year and February this year, with owners urged to take cars in for inspection.
