DURBAN - Former KwaZulu-Natal judge president Achmat Jappie has died at the age of 70.
He was appointed to the bench in 1998 and served as the deputy judge president.
Later, he led the KZN High Court as judge president from 2015.
At the same time, Jappie also served as an acting Constitutional Court judge, while playing a crucial role in overseeing court operations in KZN.
He continued his contributions in the country's legal system well into retirement.
