JOHANNESBURG - There are growing calls for Gauteng healthcare facilities to be upgraded and staff trained to be a lot more friendlier to patients.
There have been allegations recently that some clinic employees in the province, are unwelcoming, with long queues adding to patients' frustrations.
According to a report by Ritshidze , a community led monitoring system, patients are being shouted at and people are now scared to visit some of the clinics.

The report has also found that people living with HIV are mostly targeted and often sent to the back of the queue, if they are late for an appointment.
The report is calling for an urgent action and reform as this failings in the health system contribute to slow progress towards getting patients on treatment. Activists are calling for government's urgent intervention.
The health department says they are working with organisations to fix the issues that have been reported.
Terrance Magoro from the Gauteng department of Health says they are dealing with millions of people yearly and this sometimes burdens them but they are working on it.
