JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi announced in his State of the Province Address that the government plans to revamp Nelson Mandela’s Houghton home.

The house was abandoned in 2020.

The Johannesburg Heritage Foundation has highlighted the importance of preserving struggle icon’s homes and office buildings.

These include the Chancellor House in the CBD, where Mandela and Oliver Tambo had their law offices.
