JOHANNESBURG - South Africans are being urged to brace for a much hotter and wetter summer.
The Weather Service is warning that a La Niña event will drive above-normal rainfall and higher temperatures.
It will hit parts of the North West, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, and Eastern Cape.
The increased rainfall, expected to start next month, raises the risk of flooding and related health hazards.
Authorities are urging the public to stay alert and follow weather updates.
