JOHANNESBURG - Auckland, New Zealand, has rung in the new year with a dazzling fireworks display.
The Sky Tower lit up the sky with over 500 kilograms of fireworks, the highest display in the Southern Hemisphere.
Thanks to its spot just west of the International Date Line, Auckland celebrates midnight long before most of the world.
