Discussion | New school certificate for Grade 9 pupils

JOHANNESBURG - The introduction of a General Education Certificate for Grade 9 pupils is currently in progress.

The Basic Education Department says the certificate has been drafted and submitted to the qualification’s regulator Umalusi for review and approval.

If the certificate is approved, it will grant pupils a focus shift to more technical subjects.
