Festive Season Safety | Warning: Fireworks can cause serious injury

JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Emergency Services is urging residents to use fireworks with care on New Year's Eve.

Every year, accidents happen, injuring children, adults and animals when fireworks are misused.

When it comes to setting off fireworks the city has bylaws to ensure safety.

EMS spokesperson Robert Muladzi says if it were possible, the city would urge parents not to buy them at all.
