CAPE TOWN - Riversdale may be small, but it has big plans.

The town in the Hessequa Municipality is piloting an energy project to reduce power cuts.

It ultimately hopes to be completely free from rolling blackouts.

The Municipality and the Western Cape Government is spending over R200m on the project.
