CAPE TOWN - Safety in public spaces has again taken centre stage following the murders of nine women in Ekurhuleni.
Archbishop Tutu IP Trust Chairperson Dr Mamphela Ramphele said a government committed to tackling societal ills and not increased police presence, will help end the scourge.
Ramphele was speaking at the opening of the Tutu Memorial Park in Cape Town.
The park will be fully transformed in six months with dedicated spaces for recreation as well as walls filled with memories of the former Archbishop.
