Drake wins R13m bet on Bafana Bafana loss

JOHANNESBURG - Canadian rapper Drake is set to pocket a staggering R17 million after betting Canada would beat South Africa at the FIFA World Cup.

Drake placed a $770,000 wager on his home nation just hours before kick-off, despite many referencing the infamous "Drake curse".

The rapper called out South African DJ Black Coffee, saying he had been in his DMs before the match.

Canada's victory has sent them through to the round of 16, while South Africa's World Cup journey comes to an end.
