JOHANNESBURG - The festive season is, for many people, a time of celebration, often including fireworks, loud music, and other sudden noises.
The season can be stressful to pets.
Samanta Stelli from the NSPCA said, "if your pet is going to suffer distress during fireworks, the best way is to prepare beforehand."
Stelli advised pet owners to speak with their veterinarian about how to create a safe environment for their pets.
Stelli also encouraged members of the public to contact their local SPCA to assist if they see abandoned pets in trouble during the festive season.
