JOHANNESBURG - Former convict Mncedisi Mdingi has become a positive role model in his community.
Once regarded as a feared criminal, in his youth Mdingi was sentenced to 42 years in prison for a series of crimes.
He has now dedicated his life to fighting crime and serving as an exemplary citizen for the younger generation.
In his book, Beyond Prison Bars, he details how his early experiences with violence and racial injustice, ultimately leading him down a path of crime.
