JOHANNESBURG – Easter is around the corner and one of the Methodist Church’s choirs has released new music ahead of the Christian holiday.
Inkonzo ya MaWesile from Kuruman started in 1992 and they have released 8 albums. They are part of the Young Men’s Guild of the Methodist Church.
Choir member Mpho Tlape says their goal is to minister through music. Though the choir started in the Northern Cape, it has members from other provinces. Church members who wish to be part of the choir need to apply be sending a letter to the choir secretary.
Tuelo Matsipane, another choir member, said once someone has been allowed to join the choir, they are put on a six-month probation period where their behaviour and character are monitored. This is to see who well they can fit into the choir.
The Ke na le Molisa and Unabantu bakho Thixo hitmakers will release their ninth album before Easter.
