NQWEBA, EASTERN CAPE - Tourism Minister Patricia De Lille expressed her excitement about rural tourism. She was speaking at the official opening of the Kirkwood Spar Wildsfees Festival in Nqweba - formerly known as Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape.
The festival draws over 40,000 visitors from across the globe over three days.
The festival was established in 2002 with around two thousand visitors, but it now those visitor have increased exponentially.

Acting premier Mlungisi Mvoko says, as the province hosts massive events like the Wildsfees and the Grahamstown National Arts Festival, it uses these windows to connect with potential international investors.
From Friday to Sunday, the 22nd annual festival will offer something for everyone, with a diverse lineup of activities suitable for all ages.
