JOHANNESBURG - The National Coloured Congress (NCC) says Fadiel Adams’ legal team has confirmed they have received a warrant of arrest for him.
He was arrested on Tuesday by the SAPS Political Killings Task Team at the Pelican Park Parliamentary Village in Cape Town.
While Adams had earlier told eNCA he would only hand himself over to police on Wednesday, SAPS officials arrived at his parliamentary residence just before noon.
Adams is now being transported to KwaZulu-Natal, where he is expected to appear in court.

Adams’ lawyer, Bruce Hendricks, said they intend to bring an urgent application for his release on Wednesday.
Adams faces charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
This comes as he is accused of interfering with investigations into the murder of former ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa.
According to Hendricks, the arrest has left Adams’ family under significant stress.
"He is currently en route to Durban. We don't know where they are currently and we have no contact as yet with the investigating officer. We are trying to obtain contact to ascertain whether Mr Adams is indeed safe," he said.
"I have also been instructed that he has not received his medication. As everyone knows, he is suffering an injury to the shoulder for which he is currently using medication. I can also say that the family is also under severe stress as a result of this current arrest."
