JOHANNESBURG - Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia says action will be taken against officers accused of criminal behaviour.
This includes suspensions and dismissals.
Cachalia says allegations of police officers taking bribes must be thoroughly investigated.
He warns that those found guilty of criminal conduct will be fired.
"There are disciplinary allegations of misconduct, and whether allegations of criminal misconduct and in the latter, I think there is a case for suspension, punitive suspensions and certainly if a case is proven, members guilty of criminal conduct have to be fired," he said.
"I've seen evidence on social media, but I mean, so those matters have to be investigated of police officers taking bribes."
