JOHANNESBURG - The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a City with potential says Democratic Alliance mayoral candidate Khathu Rasilingiwane.
But she says that it lacks the leadership to unlock that potential. Rasilingwane was speaking at the We The Nation local government election debate in Boksburg on Sunday.

She says that the municipality is collapsing.
A DA coalition ran the municipality in 2021 when Tania Campbell was elected mayor. But Campbell was removed by a motion of no confidence. In October 2022 she was re-elected until she was once again removed by a motion of no confidence in 2023.

Rasilingwane says during that time the party inherited disfunction at the municipality.
She says the party is ready to restore order in the municipality by creating a culture of accountability.
