JOHANNESBURG - As election results continue to trickle in, the IEC is working to complete the capturing process and verify the ballots.
Nearly 16 million voters cast their ballots in this week's polls.
But concerns remain over voter turnout and complaints from political parties.
The IEC put turnout at an estimated 54.5 percent, up from 46 percent in the 2021 local elections.
Control of the country's eight major metropolitan municipalities is up for grabs, alongside dozens of district and local councils.
