PRETORIA - South Africans are taking to the streets on Wednesday, with three separate marches planned to demand stronger action from government to address gender-based violence.
In Pretoria, men and women will march to the Union Buildings, putting women's safety and the country's ongoing gender-based violence crisis in the spotlight.
In Cape Town and Durban, protest group March and March has called for a national day of mass action, adding to growing public pressure on government to respond to the crisis.

The protests come just hours after President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation, announcing several interventions aimed at tackling gender-based violence.
But while government said the measures are intended to strengthen the country's response, anti-GBV organisations that spoke to eNCA remain sceptical.
They said previous commitments have not translated into enough meaningful change and are questioning whether the latest interventions will deliver results.
