JOHANNESBURG - Social grant beneficiaries who are still using SASSA gold cards after the 31 August deadline will temporarily be unable to access their payments from 2 to 7 September.
This is because the gold card will stop working.
According to Postbank, grant payments will continue to be deposited into beneficiaries’ accounts, but they will need to complete the migration to the Postbank black card before they can access their funds.
Postbank Chief Commercial Officer Thami Cele said the deadline was set to give beneficiaries enough time to collect their new Postbank black cards at their convenience.
“What will only allow you to have access to your funds is the Postbank black card,” Cele said.
Beneficiaries who missed the deadline are urged to visit their nearest Postbank card replacement site as soon as possible to complete the migration process and restore access to their social grant payments.
