Middle East conflict | Ramaphosa calls for immediate ceasefire

BRASILIAPresident Cyril Ramaphosa has reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East.

He's keeping an eye on developments on the Gulf while strengthening ties with a visit to Brazil. Ramaphosa was in Brazil for a two-day state visit.

“We reiterate our call for a peaceful resolution of disputes in line with the United Nation’s charter and we condemn the loss of life, particularly the lives of civilians and the destruction of vital infrastructure,” Ramaphosa said.

He added: “We call on all parties involved in this conflict to immediately ceasefire so that the conflict can be solved through negotiations.”
