Migrants blame authorities as repatriation continues in Cape Town

CAPE TOWN - Some migrants at Cape Town’s Epping Repatriation Centre blame South African authorities for the crisis.

About 1,500 Zimbabwean nationals have come forward for voluntary repatriation as anti-migrant protests continue.

The Home Affairs Department expects its operation at the venue to be completed in the next three days.

Hundreds carry their belongings to the Epping Repatriation Centre in Cape Town, hoping their turn will come to travel back to their home country.

Some blame Home Affairs and the Immigration System for their woes while others are calling for help from officials back home.

Despite some criticism of the process, Home Affairs says a comprehensive plan is in place before citizens are repatriated.

The voluntary repatriation is expected to continue for the next few days.
