GQEBERHA - "Our City has a lot of actors," says Nelson Mandela Bay's ACDP mayoral candidate Lance Grootboom.
Advocate Lonwabo Ngoqo continues to act as City Manager in the municipality. The provincial Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) declared incumbent Noxolo Nqwazi’s suspension unlawful, with the council yet to act on that finding.

Grootboom is concerned about the acting positions in other departments.
"If we don't fix that, we won't be able to hold anybody accountable," he explained.
"We need to resolve the City Manager issue."

The ACDP is calling for managers who are fit for purpose, slamming cadre deployment. This will help stabilise the municipality, the party believes.
The ACDP in the metro is calling for the maintenance of existing infrastructure.
