JOHANNESBURG - While in the Randburg Magistrate Court's holding cells, disgraced top cop Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya was served with a notice to attend a disciplinary hearing.
The hearing set for 5 October will deal with allegations arising from the Madlanga Commission.
Sibiya appeared at the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on five charges including rape, trafficking of persons and sexual grooming of a child. His bail application has been postponed to Thursday, 1 October.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said they will be guided by the courts. However, she said while he is still in custody, they will work with the Department of Correctional Services to allow for his hearing to be heard at the Kgosi Mampuru prison, where is being held.
"If he is out on bail, a new venue will be communicated to him," said Mathe.
The hearing comes after investigations by the Commission's recommendations task team, which has since been completed.
Sibiya has been accused of having links to alleged underworld figures, including Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala. He allegedly also used disgraced police officer Sergeant Fannie Nkosi to communicate with Matlala.

Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers has been appointed as the presiding officer for the disciplinary hearing.
Sibiya was arrested on 21 September at an alleged strip club in Sandton for the alleged rape of an 18-year-old and alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old. He has denied the allegations.
He alleges charges against him are trumped up and say the victims are not vulnerable, nor have they been sexually exploited. He has also promised that he will not temper with the witnesses.
