DURBAN - Heads of SADC states are gathering in Durban for the 46th Ordinary Summit, amid heightened security following three attempts to gain unauthorised access to the venue.
The summit will focus on ways to develop infrastructure and drive industrialisation across the region, while maximising the benefits of its critical mineral resources.
Regional leaders will also receive updates on socio-economic developments across SADC.
High on the agenda will be the Ebola outbreak in the DRC, as well as Zambia’s upcoming elections, which have been marred by violence.
